The Global Human Rights Organization (GHRO) is a non-partisan, non-profit voluntary organization that aims to support, protect and enforce the human rights of all communities suffering from a lack of services around the world, for an equitable society.
GHRO engages with the United Nations and the World Association of Lawyers and works progressively to advance human rights for citizens at home and abroad. Based in Calgary, Alberta, with executive offices on multiple continents, we also work with partners in more than fifty countries to defend the human rights of individuals and achieve comprehensive social development across demographics.
Our vision is the formation of a fearless and non-succumbing society founded on truthfulness and non-violence — a society that allows the peaceful existence of every person irrespective of caste, creed, sex, religion, ability or income.
GHRO is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights for all. Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world — so we work to improve human rights through campaigning and international solidarity.
A world where every individual is treated with dignity and equality; where human rights are universally recognized and upheld; where victims have access to justice and perpetrators are held accountable; where people are empowered to claim their rights and participate fully in decisions that shape their lives; and where development is pursued in a way that respects human rights and the environment.
From our Calgary headquarters, our President leads GHRO Canada’s engagement with government bodies, diplomatic missions, civil society partners, and the volunteer chapters that deliver our programmes on the ground.
Under his leadership the organization has grown into a nationwide network of members and volunteers advocating for refugees, women, children and displaced communities — at home in Canada and in more than twenty countries abroad.
